Whatisthishappiness366: Eighteen. 18 January 2012. After school I accompanied Kassandra to the UChicago Admitted Student Reception. Kassandra underestimated the Reception and thought that at best it would be a boring panel after which they gave us cookies and sandwiches. When we entered the building the front desk almost turned us away because Kassandra was wearing jeans. A few things worth mentioning: The hors d’oeuvres were delicious: there was coconut shrimp and spheres filled with cheese and ham…the fancy kind. They were ABSOLUTELY ASTOUNDING! Sat at the table for two hours, people kept putting their glasses on our table and there was a forcefield of some sort around us since everyone distanced themselves five feet away from us and they kept retreating farther during the night. We met some boy named Lorenzo who likes the cold, is into track but not too much anymore, and does not mingle either. At around 8:40 there was barely anyone left so we went home. After an initial speech we were left free to roam the room and talk to people. After finally standing from our table someone else came up to us: some woman in a Firefly shirt who watches Doctor Who and is a nerdfighter. I gave her a high five.

One hundred and ninety-nine. 17 July 2012.

Today I woke up really early and helped my mom and dad with finding tourist information for people from Russia who are planning to visit NYC. I then took a quick shower and went to James’ house at 9.

He was really sleepy so we lay in bed for a while, and then he went to take a shower while I planned my Donna Noble costume. I started to get excited after we talked about it and I remembered that I had wanted to cosplay her last year but I didn’t have enough money for supplies. We were both planning on doing paper-mache projects, me for my time beetle and James for his Amon mask.

At around 11 we left his house and went to my house to have breakfast and look at the sketches I made last year for the costume. My mom came back from the beach, we ate, and then we scrammed.

We first went to 14th street to check out a wig place but it wasn’t there anymore. We saw House of Waters at the Union Square station, which was nice. James bought their new CD. We then went to Prince Street to Blick Art, realized that Pearl Paint was the better store, and went there instead. Afterwards James wanted to go to Party City back at 14th street to look for masks, so we went there and then went to Guitar Center last. At Guitar Center, James taught me how to play something on the Bass.

After Guitar Center, James and I were both really hungry so we went to Silver Spurs. Then we went home.

I used my metrocard 8 times today.

Two hundred and fourteen. 1 August 2012.

It is the eleventh month.

It was raining really heavily in the morning, right around the time I was supposed to meet a girl from facebook to buy a cardigan off of her. We were supposed to meet at 1pm but I was 10 minutes late because of train service changes. After buying the cardigan I went to CVS, where I met James. He was working on his schedule but needed one more class to add so I helped him do that.

Afterwards we went downstairs to eat some food and then we watched an episode of Doctor Who. He finally watched Planet of the Ood, and we have a few more episodes until the finale, which I’m excited for. Turn Left and series 4 is my favorite.

At CVS I gave James a present: a shirt he wanted from Urban Outfitters. Jessica and Randy saw it and they both liked it. Randy  hinted to Jessica that he wanted one too, which was funny.

After watching Doctor Who, James and I fell asleep for a half hour. I left a little after 6 and got home before 7. My mom came home a little bit afterwards and I relaxed at home.

I looked into real estate and thought about how I could get a license in the future and use my language skills to possibly become a real estate agent who works in different countries.

Two hundred and twenty-five. 12 August 2012, a Sunday.

I woke up early this morning and met Kassandra at the B6 bus stop on 86th street at 10. We then met Charlie and took the bus to the N train, which we took to 34th street.

We went to H&M, Forever 21, Uniqlo, and American Apparrel. I got a skinny belt and two tops at Forever 21. Everything else was expensive or too colorful for work.

Charlie, Kassandra, and I stopped by Wendy’s to eat. On the way to American Apparrel we saw Shelly and her mom! That was very unexpected and pretty funny. Shelly only noticed us because she saw Charlie from the reflection of the window and she shouted after us. Kassandra sang “its a small world afterall” and we finished shopping and went home.

Kassandra and I went to Marshalls, where I got a regular belt for jeans (FINALLY!) and I fell in love with a tie that I ended up not getting because I don’t wear ties and I figured James wouldn’t like it, even if he did wear ties. Kassandra and I parted ways and I went home, stopping by a store to buy paper.

Ana bleached my hair and I bleached hers, and I finally ate at around 6. We went to Hi Tea and then Ichi Sushi for dinner. I said goodbye to Ana and Mark and went home. My dad was really angry and yelled at me because I didn’t do something he asked me to. I walked the dog for a long time to give him a chance to cool down, helped him with something, and kept a low profile for the rest of the night. I caught up with James and we talked about our days, and I went to sleep fairly early.

This week was a nice mix of being busy and relaxing. I got to see a bunch of people I didn’t see for a while. (ZELFIE!) And I also got a job woohooo!!!

Next week will be a mystery, but I need to do job stuff and see friends.

Two hundred and eighteen. 5 August 2012, a Sunday.

In the morning I woke up and saw that my parents were still home. As it turned out they were staying home because they “partied too hard” the day before. I went to James’ house at 1pm, stopping by CVS first.

James gave me flowers for 11 months and made me guacamole chips with sourcream and refried beans and guacamole. I was craving guacamole chips for weeks! We watched Doctor Who: the last 3 episodes of Series 4.

After that, we went to sleep for a little bit. I wasn’t tired and woke up in around 20 minutes. Then it was time for me to go. James let me borrow his clothes because I wore a really thin dress and it was raining outside.

I ate guac chips and guacamole and playing games when I got home.

This week was pretty good. I didn’t finish Zelfie’s box, but I will soon.

Next week I will figure out my AP credit, and finalize my schedule.
